Tyskie Browary Książęce Visitor Centre with a unique guest offer

Tyskie Browary Książęce invites everyone to explore one of Poland’s most cutting- edge and fastest beer packaging plants and at the same time one of very few in the country available to visitors. As of August 1, 2023, the existing offer of the Visitor Centre includes tours around the historic brewery, where beer has been brewed uninterruptedly for nearly 400 years.

During a tour, a guide will lead the visitors through the packaging lines, present their history and types of packaging used in the brewery, and share some fun facts and data regarding the record-breaking efficiency of the Tychy-based plant. The visitors will see a giant bottle washer, which functions similarly to a standard kitchen dishwasher, but the capacity is 24 thousand bottles in one 22-minute washing cycle. It will also be possible to take a sneak peek at bottle quality control and the process of filling and capping them with the use of so- called monoblocks, as well as filling and closing cans. Additionally, the visitors will get a chance to observe the process of beer filling level control and bottle labelling. Some of the equipment located in the Tyskie Browary Ksiażęce Packaging Plant is only available at a few breweries around the world.

In the period of 284 days, Tyskie Browary Książęce pours beer to so many bottles and cans that if we put them on top of each other, a tower reaching the Moon of nearly 385 thousand km would be created. In high season, over one day, the brewery releases even 300 trucks full of beer. In one hour, we fill up 150 thousand cans and 120 thousand bottles. With the daily number of cans filled across our lines, it would be possible to mark the route from Tychy to Vienna… and back, which is about 600 km! It is one of the fastest and most technologically advanced beer packaging plants in Poland, and our Visitor Centre is one of the very few who make it available to visitors – says Marcin Mietluk, Packaging Trainer at Tyskie Browary Książęce.

So far, the tour has encompassed the historic and still operational brewhouse from 1915 with copper vats and interior decorated with white and blue mosaic, Bachelor’s House, neo- baroque Müller’s Villa, old wood tar factory and cooperage, and so-called familocks. In the meantime, the visitors learn about the history of Tyskie Browary Książęce, production stages of beer production – the world’s oldest alcoholic beverage, Tyskie and Książęce beer sensory profiles, beer styles and fundamentals of the beer culture. The theoretical knowledge is supported with sensual experiences – the Beer Laboratory awaits with beer artefacts and the best types of raw materials.

Tyskie Browary Książęce is not just a brewery – it is a town considered as the heritage of Poland, Silesia and Tychy. In this place, people were brewing beer, working, getting born, praying, playing and living. It combines the life stories of many generations – families that created a unique community within the Brewery premises.

The buildings and images of former brewers captured on murals designed by visual artist Matylda Sałajewska and executed by Poland’s leading muralist Artur Wabik reflect the incredible bond between the local community and the Brewery.

The tour around Tyskie Browary Książęce culminates in a beer tasting at the Pod Browarem pub, where everyone can get a taste of the unique, freshly brewed Tyskie Gronie from the Brewery and snacks that enhance the flavor and character of different beer types. The Visitor Centre building also houses a store with interesting Tyskie brand gadgets.

The Visitor Centre is open from Tuesday until Sunday between 12:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
