We have just started Szlachetna Paczka – the largest employee volunteer project at Kompania Piwowarska.

The largest employee volunteer project at Kompania Piwowarska for the neediest families has just started. Already for the fourth time our company will support WIOSNA Association and Szlachetna Paczka program. Thanks to this initiative, on the weekend of 6-8 December, over 50 selected families will receive gifts in the form of Christmas parcels prepared by volunteers from KP. This year 53 leaders joined the initiative and created teams consisting of over 1600 volunteers.

Kompania Piwowarska has been working for Szlachetna Paczka for four years now. Every year a large number of KP employees is involved in this project, and thanks to them many needy families receive Christmas parcels they dream of.

    – On the one hand, the time before Christmas is very special, but on the other, each of us is even more busy than usual. Despite all this, there are people in our company who want to dedicate their time and energy to making others happy, who think about others, and this is great. Being part of such a noble initiative, wisely helping others, is great, because helping gives us wings – said Małgorzata Walędzińska-Półtorak, Sustainable Development Projects Manager at Kompania Piwowarska.

Kompania Piwowarska has supported the Szlachetna Paczka program since 2016. During the last three editions, KP volunteers prepared over 3,000 parcels for 174 families consisting of poor, disabled, elderly, and lonely people. The parcels were worth ca. PLN 700,000. Volunteers have packed presents for over 345 working days, almost as many days as a year has.

–- Every year we break a record both in the number of people willing to help, and in the number of packages prepared with the most needed items – furniture, household equipment, clothes, food, medicines, household chemistry, but also Christmas gifts. I am sure that this year we will break another record, because there are people with great hearts with us – added Małgorzata Walędzińska-Półtorak.

For years Kompania Piwowarska has supported different social initiatives and organizations, like the WIOSNA Association. Thanks to volunteers and for volunteers themselves who look after local communities, in Kompania Piwowarska a program called “Kompania of Volunteers” was created. KP employees with energy and open minds, but primarily out of the kindness of the heart, engage themselves in social activities. As a result of a company-wide program “Bet on Move”, the kilometers covered when practicing sports are changed to financial aid to organizations supporting the needy. Also, since 2010 KP has organized Tyskie Cup – a football tournament for employees, where activity is coupled with the idea of volunteering. Three winning teams can pick any organizations which will receive donations. Kompania Piwowarska also acts to the benefit of communities in which it manufactures and sells its beer – for several years Lech brand has been running its LECHSTARTER program in which local communities receive funds for winning projects.

Szlachetna Paczka is a nationwide social project dating back to 2001, and organized by WIOSNA Association. Its main aim is to provide material and mental assistance to disadvantaged families and people. Szlachetna Paczka is one of the most recognized social projects in Poland. Contrary to what it may seem, it is not about making parcels. It is based on work with Donors and Volunteers, who help families in need. Volunteers seek families and work with them. Donors prepare dedicated help thanks to which a specific person helps another specific person.
