Pilsner’s First Shrine in Gdańsk! Official opening of Tankovna Riverside by Pilsner

Pilsner Urquell takes every effort to make sure that Poles can enjoy top quality unpasteurized and freshly brewed beer – exactly the same that is available in Plzen. That is why already on 29 November people from the Pomerania Province will be able to taste the cult, golden Pilsner during the opening of the first Tankovna in Gdańsk.

Where can you find Czech taste on the Polish seaside? In the effort to meet the needs of consumers seeking high quality, natural, and honestly brewed products, Pilsner Urquell opens unique establishments, called Tankovnas, which offer the golden Pilsner straight from a tank. One of them will be opened on 29 November 2019 at 6 p.m. right in the heart of Gdańsk, on the island Wyspa Spichrzów, in Chmielna 10 street.

Tankovnas are flagship Pilsner Urquell establishments in which one can have beer straight from a tank, beer with a clearly more intensive taste. As this beer is unpasteurized, the Czech brewery has only 48 hours to deliver it to Tankovnas spread all across Europe. The fresh Pilsner is than “tanked” from a truck into stainless steel or copper containers, dubbed tanks, in a pub. Unlike standard keg beer, in Tankovna systems beer never gets into contact with additional CO2, thus it tastes exactly as upon leaving the Plzen brewery.

The quality of beer served at such pubs, both on the opening day, and on a daily basis, is supervised by tapsters – bartenders responsible for ensuring that every Pilsner served in a Tankovna tastes the same as the one served in Plzen. The lovers of this golden beverage can visit Riverside by Pilsner to try 3 traditional Czech serving styles, namely Hladinka, Šnyt and Mlíko. Hladinka is characterized by a combination of thick creamy head with refined bitterness. Šnyt will definitely win the hearts of the lovers of the cult Czech flavor. Mlíko, on the other hand, is a beer mug full of surprisingly sweet, thick, creamy foam. 

The official opening of the first Tankovna in Gdańsk is also an opportunity to meet people who are strongly bonded with this brand, creating it on a daily basis. The event will be dignified by Kamil Ruzek, a Czech brewmaster, and Sławomir Fridel, a tapster and Pilsner Urquell brand ambassador, who both will explain to guests the importance of perfect serving. Another known person taking part in the event will be Maciej Chołdrych (piwoznawcy.pl), a beer expert, who has broad knowledge about the sensory qualities of beers and their specifics. On the opening day anyone ordering a large mug of Pilsner will get it for the price of a small one. Guest will be encouraged to take part in attractive competitions with Pilsner Urquell brand gadgets as prizes.
