Fifth season’s over! A record number of people involved in Kompania Piwowarska’s “Check your BAC” project.
The holidays have come to an end, and with them many outdoor events. Kompania Piwowarska’s mobile zone – Check your BAC – has also completed its tour. Time for a roundup. During 19 events the zone attracted almost 250,000 people, of which over 100,000 participants took a breathalyzer test, and 40,000 watched an animation using alco-goggles and a reflex-meter. It was already the fifth edition of the zone.
Since 2015, the Check your BAC zone has traveled thousands of kilometers across Poland, attracting thousands of visitors. Thanks to the zone, last summer one could check one’s sobriety at 19 outdoor events all over the country. The Zone visited such events as Audioriver, Pol’and’Rock, Fest Festival, Jarocin Festival, Days of the Sea, Żubr’s Birthday, and numerous student events like Juwenalia. Check your BAC is a great opportunity to expand one’s knowledge, and to educate others on responsible alcohol consumption through experience, rather than theory alone.
– The popularity of Check your BAC has been growing year on year. Everybody knows that many people drive their cars to parties at which alcohol is served. However, the figures of the 5th edition speak for themselves – about the continued interest in the zone and Poles’ growing awareness of responsible alcohol consumption. It is a good sign, showing that we know how to have fun in a responsible way, ensuring our safe return home from such events – says Małgorzata Walędzińska-Półtorak, Sustainable Development Programs’ Manager at Kompania Piwowarska.
This year also marks a commemorative anniversary of the launch of the Check your BAC project. Within 5 years, Kompania Piwowarska, with its responsibility zone, participated in 61 different mass events organized for diversified customer groups. These were music events, beer feasts for thousands of people, aircraft picnics, disco-polo events, mass student events, and many more.
– On the fifth anniversary of Check your BAC, it gives us great pride to say that during mass events with our participation, we engaged a total of about 1 million people, and nearly 340,000 good-fun lovers tested themselves with a professional breathalyzer, one that is used by the police. Over 100,000 animations using alco-goggles and a reflex-meter helped boost awareness of how perception of reality is distorted and how reflexes are slowed down after drinking alcohol. Interestingly enough... without even having to drink a drop of alcohol. Also, people very much liked our new mobile application called ‘Check your BAC’ – adds Małgorzata Walędzińska-Półtorak.
Apart from the zone and free Check your BAC application, which is offered for the two most popular operating systems and allows one to estimate blood alcohol content, Kompania Piwowarska also maintains a website called abcalkoholu.pl, where one can expand one’s knowledge on alcohol and its impact on the human body and human behavior.
Kompania Piwowarska’s ‘Check your BAC’ is a program aimed at promoting responsible alcohol consumption, which is in line with one of the 13 UN sustainable development goals pursued by Kompania Piwowarska.
