KP: a leader in low water consumption
Despite a significant growth in beer production in the past five years, Kompania Piwowarska has reduced its annual water consumption by nearly a million cubic metres. The company uses barely 3.38 Hl of water per one Hl of beer which is the best result among all SABMiller breweries.
Investment to reduce CO2 emissions
Owing to a new modern boiler house in Poznań and combusting biogas in Tychy, in the past five years KP has managed to reduce CO2 emissions by 35 thousand tons. This amount is comparable to CO2 emissions from over 4,200 passenger cars with a mileage of 25,000 km a year!
Rational waste management at KP
As much as 98% of all waste produced at Kompania Piwowarska is recycled. The amount of waste dumped in the landfills in F10 amounted to barely 6,209 Mg which means that within 24 hours, all KP breweries produce less waste than would squeeze in a typical dustcart.
“In Tune with Nature” is an eco-education programme for Kompania Piwowarska employees launched in 2007; it follows the sprit of the time and is transferred to malepiwo.net, a social networking website for KP employees. The programme is also famous for the “Green Wardrobe” events.
